Hard Floor
Timber flooring
The key features of a timber floating floor comprise a top layer of timber bonded to a backing of plywood. The flooring is supplied in strips which are locked together and either laid onto a smooth sub floor or stuck down. There are many timber species, colours and patterns (like planking and parquetry) available.
Dirt, grit sunlight, moisture, furniture movement and traffic will all have an effect on a timber floor. But a regular and careful maintenance programme will help to maintain its good looks fro many years. One of the features of a timber floor is that it can be refinished if it becomes excessively worn, scratched or dented. (See our Product Care Guide and ask in store).
