ARC Bamboo – Coffee
Bamboo is a highly durable option, especially the strand-woven variety. It is often compared to hardwood in terms of strength and longevity.
Bamboo flooring performs well in areas with moderate humidity, making it a suitable choice for the Australian climate. However, like most natural materials, bamboo can expand or contract with significant changes in moisture levels. To ensure durability, it's important to install bamboo flooring in spaces with stable humidity and avoid areas prone to excessive dampness, such as bathrooms or laundry rooms. Proper sealing and acclimatization during installation can further enhance its performance.
Yes, bamboo is considered an eco-friendly material because it grows quickly, replenishes itself, and can be harvested sustainably without damaging its root system.
Bamboo flooring is relatively durable and resistant to scratching, but like any hardwood, it can scratch under certain conditions. Strand-woven bamboo, the hardest type, is particularly resistant to wear and tear. To minimize scratching, use furniture pads, avoid dragging heavy objects, and keep pet nails trimmed. Regular maintenance and proper care will help preserve its appearance.
Cleaning bamboo floors involves sweeping or vacuuming regularly and mopping with a damp mop. Harsh chemicals should be avoided to prevent damage to the finish.
Yes, cork flooring is durable enough for high-traffic areas when properly maintained. Its natural resilience allows it to bounce back from impacts, and its cellular structure provides cushioning and noise reduction. With a quality finish, cork flooring resists scratches and wear, making it a suitable choice for spaces like hallways, kitchens, and living rooms. Regular cleaning and sealing every few years help maintain its durability and appearance.
Cork flooring is naturally water-resistant due to its cellular structure, which helps repel moisture. However, it’s important to clean up spills promptly and maintain proper sealing to prevent damage from prolonged exposure to liquids. With proper care, cork can perform well in areas with occasional moisture.
Cork is harvested from the bark of cork oak trees, making it a sustainable and renewable resource. The harvesting process does not harm the trees, and cork regrows after harvesting.
Cork flooring is relatively low-maintenance compared to other flooring options. Regular sweeping or vacuuming and occasional damp mopping are usually enough to keep it looking great. However, proper care depends on the manufacturer's guidelines, so it's essential to follow their care and maintenance instructions for the best results and to maintain any warranties.
Cork is known for its softness and resilience, making it a comfortable choice to walk on. It also provides excellent insulation, keeping floors warm and quiet.
