      Frequently Asked Questions

Hybrid flooring is an innovative type of flooring that combines the strengths of laminate and vinyl planks to offer a durable and versatile flooring solution. It is constructed with multiple layers, including a decorative surface that mimics the look of natural materials like wood or stone, a rigid core for added stability, and a backing layer for support. This composition results in a floor that is resilient, easy to maintain, and suitable for various areas within residential or commercial spaces.

Hybrid flooring is designed to handle moisture and spills effectively, making it highly water-resistant and suitable for areas like kitchens and living spaces. However, it’s important to clean up spills promptly and avoid prolonged exposure to standing water to ensure the longevity of the flooring.

Hybrid flooring combines the durability of laminate with the flexibility of vinyl, featuring a rigid core for added strength and stability. Laminate flooring, on the other hand, is made primarily from high-density fiberboard and provides a more traditional wood-like appearance. Both options are hardwearing and suitable for a range of spaces, with hybrid offering a slightly softer feel underfoot compared to the firmer surface of laminate.

Hybrid and vinyl flooring differ primarily in their construction and feel underfoot. Hybrid flooring combines a rigid core with a top vinyl layer, making it highly durable and suitable for fluctuating temperatures. Vinyl flooring, on the other hand, is more flexible and typically thinner, offering a softer feel and easier installation in tight spaces. Both options are stylish, low-maintenance, and designed to mimic natural materials like wood or stone. The choice often comes down to personal preference and the specific needs of your space.

Hybrid flooring can often be installed over existing floors, such as tiles, vinyl, or timber, as long as the subfloor is clean, level, and in good condition. However, it’s essential to consult the manufacturer's installation guidelines to ensure compliance with their specific requirements and avoid voiding any warranties.

Hybrid flooring is highly durable and designed to resist scratches from everyday wear and tear. However, like any floor, it’s important to use furniture pads and avoid dragging heavy objects to maintain its appearance.

Hybrid flooring often comes with an attached underlay, so additional underlay is typically not required. However, in some cases, particularly if the subfloor is uneven or if extra soundproofing or insulation is desired, an underlay may be recommended. Always check the manufacturer’s guidelines to ensure the best results for your specific product and installation.

Yes, hybrid flooring is compatible with many types of underfloor heating systems. For proper performance, just ensure that the installation is done according to the manufacturer’s guidelines.

Yes, hybrid flooring is designed to withstand high foot traffic, making it a perfect option for busy areas like living rooms, hallways, and kitchens.

Hybrid flooring is low-maintenance. Simply sweep or vacuum regularly to remove dust and dirt, and use a damp mop with a pH-neutral cleaner for deeper cleaning. Avoid using steam mops or harsh chemicals that can damage the surface.

With proper care, hybrid flooring can last 20 years or more thanks to its durable construction and resistance to wear, scratches, and moisture. The longevity of your floor will depend on the amount of foot traffic and maintenance.

Yes, hybrid flooring is designed for easy installation thanks to its click-lock system, which allows it to be installed over various subfloors without glue or nails. However, for the best results and to ensure a flawless finish, we recommend having it professionally installed. A professional installer can handle tricky areas like corners and edges, ensuring your flooring looks great and lasts for years to come.

To estimate the area in square metres, multiply the length of the room by the width (in metres).

      Carpet is sold in widths of 3.66m or 4m. eg. 3m x 3m room = 3m x 3.66m of Carpet. Requiring 10.98 m2 not 9 m2.

Sheet vinyl is sold in widths of 3m or 4m.

Modular products are sold by the box quantity. Box sizes vary by product. We recommend approximately an additional 10% for wastage.

Additional charges apply for uplift and disposal of existing flooring, movement of furniture, trims, floor preparation and minimum installation charges etc.

Based on these considerations the total installed price presented on this site is an estimate only.
