What is the best rug for me?

It depends entirely on your style and budget. To find your perfect match, pair your unique style (modern, contemporary, industrial, natural, etc.) to your lifestyle (luxurious, family friendly, etc.).

Colour and design are often the biggest factors as people go for a look that suits them and their space. If you are after bold and bright colours and design consider a rug made from a synthetic fibre. Or maybe you’re inspired by a natural look with a more neutral colour palette.

If you are after quality, you may like to consider rugs that are high density machine woven rugs, or handmade rugs that often last more than 10 years. Similar looks can be achieved with a more economical rug look but you may need to compromise on that lush pile height and accept that these thinner rugs may wear more quickly or even flatten easier over time.

What is the perfect right rug size for your space?

Rugs come in many standard sizes and choosing the size of the rug for your living areas can be difficult. You want your rug to be proportional with the rest of your space and furniture. Here are our top tips for finding the perfect rug for your space.

Dining Room

Choose a rug that extends beyond the chairs in the pulled out position, as you would to sit down. These rugs should reflect the shape of your dining table arrangement e.g. round table calls for a round rug or maybe a square rug for that square dining table.

Living Room

Make your rug wider than your furniture table. The rug should link between the lounges, chairs and coffee table and be anchored by this furniture. Balance should be achieved by leaving equal amount of rug around the furniture.

Bedroom

Smaller rugs may be used effectively at the end of side of the beds but allow enough rug to walk on comfortably around the bed. When choosing patterned rugs, think about how the furniture will cover some or most of the pattern.
